The Executive Chairman, Katsina State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), Alhaji Kabir Magaji, has charged teachers across Katsina State to embrace continuous training and professional development in order to remain effective in today’s rapidly changing learning environment.
Alhaji Kabir Magaji made the call shortly after attending the 27th Quarterly Meeting of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC) Management with Executive Chairmen of SUBEBs from the 36 states and the FCT, held in Lagos. The meeting had as its theme: “Bridging the Gap between Planning and Performance Towards Achieving Quality Basic Education.”
Speaking after the meeting, the Katsina SUBEB Chairman stressed that for Katsina to achieve sustainable educational growth, teachers must continuously update their knowledge, adopt modern teaching strategies, and align with global best practices in the classroom. He emphasized that professional development is not a one-time activity but a lifelong responsibility for every teacher.
Alhaji Magaji further explained that the governor of Katsina State, Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, has placed education at the center of his administration’s agenda, with particular focus on providing equal access to quality education for every child in the state. He added that the state government under Mallam Dikko Umar Radda, PhD, has launched the training of basic education teachers and the distribution of tablets to facilitate digital learning in schools across the state.
He therefore urged teachers across Katsina State to key into the governor’s education vision by dedicating themselves to continuous learning, so as to positively shape the future of Katsina children and contribute to building a strong educational foundation for the state.
