The African Democratic Congress, ADC has now become a Haven of spent politicians who want to cling to power forever, dominating whatever goes on in Nigeria.
Just like the Nigerian Senate, where politicians that ought to retire and mentor the young and vibrant Nigerians to chart a future for themselves, the ADC has now become platform for them to perpetuate themselves in power and continue to manipulate the lives of millions of Nigeria

Take the roll call of those in the forefront of taking over the ADC and you discover that they are over 70 years of age and had served as governors, ministers and head of government agencies without making any significant positive impacts on the Nigerian state.
Let us begin with the interim leader of the ADC, Sen David Mark.
He was a military governor of Nigeria State from 1984 to 1986 and one time Minister of communications. He was also a member of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP., becoming the longest serving President of the Nigerian Senate. Sen Mark is from Benue State. Today Benue State is bleeding to death due to escalating violence. He and other residents of the state could not muster courage to ensure the situation is brought under control.

Aregbesola was a Commissioner of Works and Infrastructure, Lagos State under Senator Bola Tinubu from 1999 to 2007. In August 2019 he was appointed as Minister of interior by President Buhari. His tenure was marked by several jail breaks. He is now the celebrated interim secretary of the ADC.

Atiku Abubakar, Wazirin Adamawa, has been on the political landscape in Nigeria for nearly 50 years, contesting for one office or the other. Recall he contested for Nigerians presidency against Chief MKO Abiola and has sustained the tempo of contest to today or even tomorrow.
Nasir el-Rufa’i, Former Minister of the FCt under Obadanjo was brought to political limelights by Atiku and headed the sale of Nigerian assets. Since then, el -Rufa’i become obsessed with power and won’t let it go and who or whatever stands between him and his desire usually get the bashing of his life.

Peter Obi, was a former governor of Anambra State of eight years, he was a vice presidential candidate of the PDP but ditched the PDP and moved to the Labour in bid to become president in 2023.
Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi was a former Governor of River State and served as the Minister of Transportation in the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari. He was also a speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly

Now whether Nigerians and especially the youth will remain their foot soldiers in the desire to dislodge President Tinubu and APC remains the challenge.
