The passage of Alhaji Aminu Al Hassan Dantata was announced in a statement released by his Principal Private Secretary, Mustapha Abdullahi Junaid and his youngest son, Alhaji Muhammadu confirms the death at about 3:00 AM after a proctrated illness which took him some months receiving medical attention.
The international business mogul, Alh. Aminu Dantata was born on 17th May 1931 at Sarari quarters in Kano. He started business as representative in the company of his father known as Alhassan Dantata and Sons and led the company after the demise of his father and elder brother Alh. Ahmadu Dantata.
He owned a number of conglomerates in agro commodities, merchandise, construction and pharmaceuticals under Dantata Organization and another in oil and gas sector known as Express Oil and Gas.
He was Commissioner of Commerce and Trade in the first cabinet of Kano State in 1967 in the administration of Alh. Audu Bako, first military Governor of the state.
He is survived by three wives and 21 children.
