The Kebbi State Government , the Zuru Local Government Council and the Tadurga Concerned Citizens accept the condolences contained in a Press Statement signed by Mohammed Bello Doka the Special Assistant on media to Abubakar Malami SAN, may the Almighty Allah forgive the victims of terror attack in Tadurga ward in Zuru Local Government Area of Kebbi and the bereaved family, the fortitude to bear the loss Amin.
Reports emanating from the office of Abubakar Malami SAN alleged that over Two Hundred (200) persons were killed during the recent attack by cattle rustlers in Tadurga of Zuru Local Government Area. We wish to categorically state that this information is not only inaccurate but highly misleading and capable of causing unnecessary panic, tension and confusion among the peace loving citizens of Kebbi state and the general public.
Contrary to the figure being circulated, verified reports from Community Leaders, Security Agencies and Humanitarian responders on ground have confirmed that Ten (10) persons tragically loss their lives in the unfortunate incidence, a loss that the State Government and Zuru Local Government Council deeply mourns and remain consistent with appropriate support and interventions.
The Kebbi State Government condemns in the most strongest terms the deliberate attempt to exaggerate the figures of casualties to score a cheap political goal. Such unfounded allegations risk undermining the tireless efforts of the Government, Security Personnel, Traditional Institutions and Community stakeholders who are working round the clock to ensure peace in Zuru and across the state.
The Kebbi State Government berates the Malami Media team for playing politics with issues of security of lives and properties.
Rather than appreciating the Present Administration, the Malami Media team and their Cohorts have decided to give a different narrative aimed at dividing the people of Kebbi state. These set of politicians have refused to see anything good in the present administration and will always turn their faces from the several laudable achievements of the State Government. They would rather see the State in flames so they can have an avenue to attack the State Government and they believe that the best way to make their opponents look bad is to use insecurity that should be every body’s business.
The Kebbi State Government, Zuru Local Government Council and Tadurga Community hereby condemn these set of politicians who exploit insecurity to advance their political agenda.
The State Government in collaboration with the Local Government and security agencies are working assiduously to restore peace in the affected areas. These efforts have hitherto recorded tremendous success as many bandits hideout were destroyed and several bandits killed in the process, but unfortunately these set of politicians will never commend these collaborative efforts rather they will wait for such rear misfortunes to ventilate their political ambitions.
The security operatives are equal to the task and the Kebbi State Government has already put in place mechanisms to enable the victims rebuild their lives and to forestal future occurrence in the affected area or any part of the state.
The Kebbi State Government hereby call on the well meaning people of Kebbi state to avoid politicizing insecurity as a tool to advance their campaign because injury to one should be injury to all. We extend our deepest condolences and assure the good people of Tadurga , Zuru Local Government and Kebbi State of our unwavering support during this difficult times.
