The Governing Council of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University, Katsina has ratified the promotion of 86 Academic Staff across the nine Faculties & a Directorate.
The ratification was made at its 54th meeting held on Thursday, 28th November, 2024,
The meeting which was presided over by the Pro-Chancellor, His Excellency, Alhaji Abdullahi Garba Faskari started in the morning and lasted till 11 o’clock in the night.
A breakdown of the figure shows 15 Readers were promoted to the rank of Professors, 16 Senior Lecturers promoted to Readers while a total of 9 Staff on Lecturer 1 cadre were equally promoted to Senior Lecturers.
A statement signed by the Registrar who is also the Secretary to the Council Muhammad Yusufu Abubakar indicated that a Senior Research Fellow was promoted to Principal Research Fellow while the remaining 45 staff who were either on the rank of Lecturer 1 or Assistant Lecturer cadre got promoted to the next rank.
The statement said all the teaching staff were promoted on meeting the criteria of promotion, hard work, diligence, commitment and dedication to duty.
The Registrar on behalf of the Council, expressed the hope that the Staff would continue to put in their best to further consolidate on the progress made to bring the institution to where it is today.
