While flagging off of this year’s immunisation program in Birnin Kebbi the Kebbi State Governor, Comrade Nasir Idris has said “the state will maintain its position in polio-free campaign”
He noted that in collaboration with stakeholders, every child will be reached during the immunisation exercise through out the state.
Governor Idris added that his administration will continue working with partners to ensure that every child in the state receives polio vaccine.
He urged the traditional and religious leaders, local government officials, and community leaders to support the campaign against polio to the program implemented successfully in the state.
Chairman of the Traditional rulers against polio eradication and the Emir of Argungu, Samaila Muhammed Mera told the governor that Kebbi State was Polio-Free since 2011.
He commended the governor for his support in the fight against polio in the state.
Also an official from World Health Organisation (WHO) Dr Nasir Zurmi applauded Kebbi State for maintaining its 100% position on Polio-Free in the state.
