The Katsina State Government has begun strategic planning for the Nigeria for Women Project, which will be implemented in the state to provide women with access to finance, markets, and relevant skills, ultimately contributing to the stateâs overall economic prosperity.
While hosting the delegation from the World Bank. Gov Dikko explored the session to reiterate the state governmentâs commitment to womenâs empowerment and sustainable economic growth.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Katsina, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed in a statement shared to newsmen said the meeting centred around the impending commencement of the Nigeria for Women Project in the state.
Gov Radda reiterated âI firmly believe that empowering women is a must for sustainable economic growth, which is in line with my administrationâs mandate for âBuilding Your Futureâ and the core essence of the Ministry of Women Affairs
The meeting was attended by key stakeholders, including Katsina State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajia Hadiza Yarâadua, and World Bank representatives, Mr. Tamir Samad (Operations Manager) and Mr. Micheal Ilesanmi (Task Team Leader).
The world Bank Task Team Leader,, Mr. Tamir Samad expressed delight at the meeting saying âWe are excited to partner with the Katsina State Government on this impactful initiative that will empower women and drive sustainable economic growthâ said Tamir Samad, Operations Manager for the World Bankâs Nigeria portfolio.
Tamir expressed confidence that through this collaborative effort, the World Bank will be able to create meaningful opportunities for the women of Katsina State.
Hajia Hadiza Yarâadua, the commissioner of Ministry of Women Affairs, Katsina State. highlighted the extensive discussions and a thorough understanding of the project, which will be implemented under the Ministry.
âWe will begin by going on a learning visit to Ogun State, and upon return, implementation will commence in 3 LGAs by creating Women Affinity Groups (WAG) across the LGAs,â she explained
