Kebbi distributes fertilizer to farmers, warns beneficiaries

Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has distributed bags of Fertilizer to 480,000 farmers across the state for this year’s farming season.

Speaking during the flagged off of the distribution program held at KARDA premises along Kalgo Road, outskirts of Birnin Kebbi metropolis,  Gov Idris said the program was organised by the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources of the state under CARES program.

According to him,  government has earmarked four billion naira for the purchase of the commodities and other farm imputs which are to be distributed to season farmers to boost agricultural activities in the state.

He added that another three billion were also doled out to purchase farm imputs to distribute to dedicated farmers for food security.

  He also said that 100 trucks of Fertilizer will be distributed to season farmers across the state and another 110 trucks to the 21 local government areas of the state.

The Governor assured that the CARES program will intervened in so many works of life including SMEs and other societal value chain.

He charged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the commodity and warned that anyone caught diverting them will be arrested and prosecuted.
