The Government and residents of Katsina State were happy with the elimination of notorious bandit kingpin, Buharin Yadin and 30 members of his terror gangs by the military operatives.
Leading the jubilation was Governor Dikko Umaru Radda who lauded the Nigerian military for its successful operation that resulted in the elimination of Buhari Alhaji Halidu, widely known as Buharin Yadi, along with more than 30 of his accomplices.
Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Katsina State disclosed that the decisive action occurred in a targeted military operation spanning across Katsina and Kaduna States.
The operation, coordinated with intelligence targeted key areas in both states, including Katsina’s Dorawar Yan Kaji, Ginanna, and Kaduna’s Samunaka, Sirdi, and Kan Dawa. This enabled the military to track down and eliminate the terrorists kingpin and his lieutenants.
A statement from the office of the Chief Press Secretary to Governor Radda, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed stated that Buharin Yadi, a long-standing fugitive on the security wanted list, was notorious for his involvement in large-scale criminal activities including kidnapping, cattle rustling, arms trafficking, and drug distribution.
His reign of terror has inflicted immense hardship and fear upon communities in Katsina and the entire northwest Nigeria for nearly a decade.
Governor Radda commended the bravery and dedication of the Nigerian military personnel involved in the operation, emphasizing their crucial role in restoring peace and stability to the region.
While expressing gratitude on behalf of people of the region for their relentless efforts to protect lives and property from criminal elements, Governor Radda reiterated support for ongoing efforts to eradicate criminal elements from the region. He further urged continued vigilance from communities in supporting them.
