From KABIR Dankatsina,

The Chairman of Kebbi State Pilgrims Agency, Alhaji Farouk Aliyu Yaro (Enabo) has described the passionate commitment of Governor Nasir Idris towards the airlift of pilgrims to Saudi Arabia successfully as the first of its kind since the creation of the state.

He said the government provided all the financial support to the agency besides establishing aviation fuel depot at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, describing the gesture as a catalyst for the flag off of Nigeria’s Hajj 2024 inaugural flight in the state.

Speaking to Journalists in Birnin Kebbi yesterday, the Chairman said the governor’s meticulous supervision of the  Agency’s activities made the board provide standard services, uniforms and bags to the pilgrims besides the luxurious accommodation and mouth watering dishes made available to them while in the holy land to enable them discharge their religious rites smoothly.

Enabo added that the consecutive airlift of eight batches of pilgrims between the 15th and the 22nd of May was achieved through tireless sleepless nights of the staff of the agency in addition to the compliance by the pilgrims to their fight schedules as they always turned out on time for screening at the camp before transporting them to the airport for departure.

He also disclosed that the last batch of the pilgrims to airlifted were expected to report to Hajj Camp on Wednesday the 5th of June preparatory to their take off on the 6th of June, adding that most of the pilgrims were government officials and staff of the agency.

He however urged all passengers of the flight to ensure early arrival at the camp for screening as the flight would be the last to avoid putting unnecessary burden on government, the agency and the flight operators at the time when solutions to hajj related problems would be too late.
