The Deputy Senate President, Dr. Barau I. Jibrin, has commissioned 107 brand new buses for the Kano North Transport Service.
Senator Barau’s gesture was part of proactive measures to alleviate transportation challenges across the 15 local government areas of Kano North Senatorial District.
The launch was held at the new Bichi Stadium amid mammoth crowd that praised Senator Jibrin for his kindness
The 107 buses are being offered to beneficiaries at a highly subsidized rate through a hire-purchase scheme.

It was envisaged that members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) across all the Local Government Areas in Kano North will directly benefit from this project.
According to Malam Rabi’u Bichi, an NURTW official, “This is a first-of-its-kind by any politician in Kano.”
He said Senator Jibrin’s empowerment programs always have a positive impact on the masses, and this latest effort will ease transportation challenges in Kano North and the entire state.
Malam Rabi’u Bichi noted that “This landmark project demonstrates Senator Jibrin’s commitment to the welfare of his constituents and the people of Kano state, solidifying his reputation as a champion of empowerment and development.”
