The Government of KEBBI State has mapped out plans to plant 100,000 trees across the 21 local government areas of the state in order to address environmental challenges in the state.
The KEBBI State Commissioner for environmental and mineral resources, Musa Muhammad Tungulawa disclosed this yesterday to Journalists during an interview in his office in Birnin Kebbi.
He said the tree planting exercise has already begun on the major streets and highways in Birnin Kebbi metropolis as well as the new renovated state secretariat.
The Commissioner also said five hectares of land were allocated in each of the four emirates councils in the state for the plantation of dates trees to boost economy.
