The Makarfi Endowment Education Trust Fund (METEF), a registered non-profit organization, is making significant strides in promoting educational advancement within Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In a recent courtesy visit to key stakeholders in Kaduna, METEF Chairman Alhaji Mahmud Bako Gazara announced that over 300 vulnerable students pursuing studies at Kaduna State University and Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic Zaria were assisted in paying their tuition and registration fees.

A statement signed and issued by Yunusa Muhammad Abdullahi,
Member Board of Trustees, METEF said these students faced financial hardship due to registration fee hikes implemented by the previous administration.

“Alhaji Mahmud Gazara, who also holds the traditional title of Wakilin Dajin Zazzau, said they had also recognized and honored seven distinguished professors from Makarfi who have reached the pinnacle of their academic careers, serving as an inspiration for future generations.

“He emphasized the historical strength of Makarfi in education and expressed METEF’s dedication to sustaining this legacy for the betterment of future generations.

“METEF Secretary Alhaji Sama’ila Aliyu highlighted their diverse objectives. In addition to scholarships, they provide skills acquisition training, guidance, and counseling sessions for Makarfi students.

“He said the major challenge for students seeking admission in the area is the lack of a JAMB center in Makarfi Local Government Area. Currently, students must travel to Zaria for their UTME exams. Additionally, some students lack computer literacy, hindering their academic success.

“To address these challenges, METEF leadership plans to engage with relevant organizations to discuss ways to enhance educational opportunities in Makarfi.

“Honorable Umar Shehu Ajilo, Member Representing Makarfi/Kudan Federal Constituency, expressed commitment to collaborating with METEF to elevate education in the area.

“Former Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Ahmed Mohammed Makarfi, along with other prominent stakeholders, also commended METEF’s vision and pledged their support in achieving their goals.”
