Out of the 5,934 seats allocated to the Kano State by the National Hajj Commission for 2024 Hajj only 2,600 has been sold so far. This is less than 50 per cent.

Director-General of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Laminu Rabiu, disclosed this in Kano on Saturday at the flag-off of the orientation training for 2024 intending pilgrims.

Alhaji Laminu said the board had completed all necessary arrangements for the 2024 Hajj in Kano and in Saudi Arabia.

“Intending pilgrims should intensify efforts at ensuring regular attendance at the Hajj orientation exercise.

“The training would be conducted in 13 centres in Kano State; we call on all the intending pilgrims to be prompt in attending the orientation training because they will learn a lot about Hajj.

“We have already completed all the necessary logistics in terms of accommodation, feeding and transportation during the 2024 Hajj,’’ he assured.

Rabiu urged intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors of Kano State and of Nigeria while in Saudi Arabia, especially by abiding by the rules and regulations governing Hajj.

He said the issuance of visas for the 2024 Hajj would end on April 29.
