The Commander, 23 Armour Brigade, Yola, Brig-Gen. Mohammed Gambo has been sack by the Nigerian Army over the attack of Adamawa Police Headquarters (HQ), during which many army personnel and a police inspector lost their lives.
Recall that the former commander mobilised 12 trucks of heavily armed soldiers and invade the headquarters. The Army authorities have replaced Gambo with Brig-Gen. Paul Zawaya, from Michika Local Council of Adamawa.
There are reports that the Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri was excited, while receiving the new commandant and urged Zawaya to double his efforts towards reducing the crime rate in the state.
The governor, who was worried over the invasion, tasked the new commander to synergise with other security agencies towards fighting kidnapping among other forms of criminality in Adamawa.
Fintiri assured of his continued support to security outfits towards making the state crime-free, for the betterment of all and sundry.
In his remarks, Zawaya assured the governor that he would do everything possible to maintain security across the state
