KTSTA supports accident victims though RAAS

In a bid to assist road accident victims, Katsina state government has introduce a policy known as Road Accident Assistance , RAAS, Scheme .

The General Manager Katsina state transport Authority, Alhaji Haruna Musa disclosed this while speaking with newsmen in Kaduna.

He said the state government under Governor Umar Radda decided to introduce such policy to effectively assist accident victims to provide succour to them.

According to the General Manager,in the event of any road accident, insurance companies do not respond positively in supporting victims, which is why Katsina state government came up with such policy.

Alhaji Musa said the RRAS always provide first aid assistance in the event of accident involving any vehicle of the authority. The GM added that the RAAS policy is being implemented through consultants, and is yielding positive results.

He contended that the Road Accident Assistance Scheme is being implemented with subsidy.

The General Manager of the Katsina State Transport Authority however identified dilapidated road networks, high cost of motor vehicle spareparts as some of the major challenges of the transport sector in the country.

Alhaji Haruna Musa therefore commended the giant strides of Governor Dikko Umar Radda, towards supporting the state transport authority, which made it functional.
