It is incumbent upon all Nigerian citizens to form a formidable front for peace and unity, considering the current happenings in the country
The counsel was given by the chairman, Northern Elders Forum NEF, Professor Ango Abdullahi at the 2nd Edition of Memorial Conference on the first indigenous Northern governor, late General Hassan Usman Katsina held in Kaduna.
He emphasized the importance of peace and continued corporate existence of Nigeria, identifying late General as a dogged and committed leader who contributed greatly to the unity of Northern Nigeria.
In his submission, the chairman North East Development Commission NEDC Rtd General Poul Tarfa, equally showered economiums on late General Hassan Usman Katsina, who he described as an epitome of peace, unity and progress.
He pointed out that while alive General Hassan Usman Katsina was a gallant and selfless soldier who sacrificed for the progress of his country.
Also speaking General IBM Haruna described late General as a leader of wisdom and proven integrity who sacrificed his lifetime in uniting Nigerians especially the Northerners.
He said the late military leader while alive was a fearless and forthright person who is always ready to tell the truth and damned the consequences He therefore enjoined the present leaders in the country to emulate the exemplary life style of the late General to uplift the nation.
In a message to the occasion, the Emir of Zazzau Ambassador Ahmed Nuhu Bamali who was represented by the Wazirin Zazzau, Barrister Muhammad Inuwa Aminu, commended the forthrightness of the General and his contribution to the unity of the North.
He noted that Nigerians would never forget the contributions and self sacrifice of General Hassan Usman Katsina towards national development and unity of the citizenry.
Mallam Ahmed Nuhu Bamali assured that Zazzau Emirate would continue to identify with people of proven integrity for purposeful development.
