Embrace AI to address health issues, Prof Pantami urges govt

It is mandatory for the federal and states government to priorities investments on Artificial Intelligence for medical practitioners  to support the system in saving lives and early disease detection.
This was suggested by
Professor Ali pantani, former Minister of Commutation and Digital Economy during a paper presentation at the 26th Annual General Meeting Organised by Islamic Medical Association of Nigeria held at Arewa House Kaduna.
The theme of the AGM was “Artificial Intelligence in Healthcare, Benefits Ethical Boundaries and Islamic Perspectives.”
Pantani encourages the government for technology, especially on Artificial Intelligence in healthcare sector for effective health delivery.
He said Saudi Arabia launched budget of about 40billion US dollar only on Artificial Intelligence which is equivalent to 2023 Nigeria budget, noting that the problem of Nigeria’s policy is lack of technological investments that are critical to carter for global challenges.
In his welcome address the president of IMAN, Professor Ibrahim Oreagbo said the association is the umbrella body for all Muslims healthcare professionals and related health concerned in Nigeria.
He said the conference is a way of celebrating the activities and enlightene the public that health is wealth and ensuring every Muslims to get access to a qualitative healthcare.
The chief host of the annual conference, Dr Muhammad Mustapha charged his colleagues in the profession to adhere to global challenges coming to them in the health sector.
