The Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammad Iliyasu-Bashar, has commended the Kebbi State for facilitating the successful hosting of the maiden Northern Traditional Rulers’ Meeting in Kebbi State.
The Emir of Gwandu, who is the Chairman, Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, stated this in a press statement issued by the Secretary, Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Shehu Lamin Kuwa in Birnin Kebbi, on Friday.
He said the Emir was highly elated by the recognition accorded not only to him and his emirate, but also to the entire Northern Traditional Rulers, who converged on Kebbi for the first and historic meeting.
“I must confess, all the successes recorded during this meeting were sequel to the active and holistic support we enjoyed from one of our own, His Excellency, Comrade Dr Nasir Idris. We have to thank him immensely for identifying with us.
“Therefore, on behalf of all Northern Traditional Rulers, I wish to express our gratitude to Kauran Gwandu, he has proven to be a true reliable son of the emirate,” he said.
The Monarch also appreciated his co-Emirs, who have travelled from different locations for impactful deliberations concerning “our country and our people.”
Similarly, the host Emir thanked members of the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) for their efforts to put everything in its rightful position towards the success of the event.
