In its delibtate efforts to streamline the Local Government activities and ensure good governance at the Local Government level, the Kebbi State Local Government Service Commission  held an annual interactive meeting with Secretaries and other Directors of the 21 Local Government Councils of the state at the conference hall of Waziri Umaru Federal Polytechnic, Birnin Kebbi,.

This is contained in a statement by the commission’s Executive Chairman, Hon. Muhammad Ashiru-Garba made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday.

He said the meeting would among other issues review the impact of monitoring visit paid to 21 LGAs of the state in the last couple of months, the progress and challenges with a view to improving the local government service.

Other matters that we discussed according to him, mobilisation of staff to the provision of the laws in relation to service and the staff involvement in anti-government policies.

Ashiru-Garba added that the participants would be guided and counselled accordingly, saying that the current effort of the commission in mobilising local government staff to ensure that they exercise their individual and collective civil rights.

The chairman urged them to registrar with INEC and obtain their permanent voter cards to enable them discharge the civic right.

He then used the medium to commend the Kebbi State Governor, Dr Nasir Idris for his continued support to the commission.
