Kebbi State Governor, Dr. Nasir Idris, Kauran Gwandu has said blind opposition will not deter his administration from taking the state to greater heights.

The Governor spoke on Wednesday in Birnin Kebbi when a high-powered delegation from the Argungu Emirate Council led by the Emir, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera paid him a thank you visit.

The Kauran Gwandu said that the visit was historic just as it has spurred him to do more to bolster the even socioeconomic development of the state.

According to Dr.Idris, although cross carpeting and opposition are normal in democracy, some saddists won’t just see the positive impact the state government has been making in the last two years.

He said, “This won’t in anyway discourage us from discharging our God-given mandate transparently, piously and patriotically.

“We are doing our possible best to restore the lost glory of Kebbi State and we will never waiver in this direction.

“The state belongs to all of us and my administration will continue to use its scarce resources to further improve the living standards of the people.”

Dr. Idris also vowed that all parts of the state would continue to be treated equally and fairly in the provision of the needed social infrastructure.

The Governor extolled the Argungu Emirate for its sustained invaluable support and cooperation to the state government, urging that such happy tempo should not be relented.

Dr Idris also commended the Emir for always diligently discharging any local, national or international assignments given to him.

He vowed that his administration would continue to be all-inclusive so as to give a sense of belonging to all the people of the State.

On the promise by President Bola Tinubu on the revival of the epochal Argungu International Fishing and Cultural Festival, the Governor said,”this promise will soon be fulfilled.

“We will team up with the Emirate to conduct a very successful event that will be attended by guests and tourists from across the world.”

The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad Mera said the visit was to show tremendous appreciation to the Governor for the developmental projects he has executed in the area and other parts of the state.

Mera said that the delegation comprised all sectors, insisting that it is non political, non ethnic and non religious.

According to the Emir, the Emirate had benefited from an uncountable number of projects in the last two years under the indefatigable leadership of the Kauran Gwandu.
