.Yaribori community in Kafur Local Government of Katsina State has been commended for bravely repelling bandit attack on Friday evening.
The commendation was made by Hon Shu’aibu Wakili, representing Kafur Local Governt in Katsina State House of Assembly
The bandits attacked Yaribori and attempted to abduct members of the community, but community members immediately mobilised themselves and reppelked them.
One of the persons they attempted abducting resisted and they shot and killed him instantly. Five other persons were injured during the attack and currently receiving medical attention.
While commiserating with families of the victims and the community,Hon Wakili urged other communities to work towards community self defence to compliment the effirts of the security personnel in dealing with the issue of insecuruty.
He also commended the effirts of the Katsina State Governor, Mal Dikko Radda for his untiring effirts in making Katsina State safe, peaceful and prosperous, urging every resident to understand and accept that security is the business of all.
The escalating security situation assumed notiriety and generating concerns from various quarters from withi and outside Nigeria.
The most recent tragedy was an attack on Gidan Mantau community in Malumfashi Local Government were several wirshippers were killed while observing morning prayers and several ithers abducted.
In responsne to the attack, the Nigerian Airfirce launched a strike on nirtorious bandit camp and about 76 kidnapped victims were rescued
The situation warrant Gov Dikki Radda, who was on a three weeks neducal vocation, to return to office.
