The martyred leaders, including military commanders and nuclear scientists, were killed in what Iranian officials describe as “Zionist crimes.” Mahmoudi emphasized that their martyrdom has united the nation and strengthened its resolve against external threats. “This funeral will send a clear message to the world about Iran’s unity and unwavering support for its defenders,” he stated .

The ceremony coincides with heightened tensions in the region, following recent Israeli attacks on Iranian targets. Iranian state media has broadcast scenes of public mourning, with crowds chanting slogans like “Death to Israel” and “We will not accept humiliation,” reflecting widespread anger and solidarity .

The event underscores Iran’s narrative of resistance and martyrdom, with state-sponsored mobilizations aiming to showcase national unity amid ongoing geopolitical challenges.
