Vice President Kashim Shettima has warned Borno State political figures who show little presence in their home state but seek national representation.

Shettima issue the warning during the official launch of the National Asset Restoration Programme, in a video posted by Arise Television which  featured Shettima addressing issues of loyalty, grassroots connection, and political ambition.

He emphasised the importance of consistent engagement with the people of Borno State, warning that those who detach themselves from local realities should not expect backing from state leadership.

According to him, political aspirants who rarely visit Borno and fail to demonstrate genuine commitment at the grassroots level will not earn the support of the state’s leadership.

“If you want to be here, if you want to represent Borno at the centre, you should show your passion and commitment at the grassroots level. Don’t ever expect the governor of Borno and me to support anyone to represent us at the centre if your interest lies elsewhere. If you only visit Borno once in a blue moon, don’t expect our support
