In Sabon Gari, near the ancient city of Zaria, we received a rousing welcome as I commissioned the 8.4KM asphaltic Dogon Bauchi – Unguwan Gwado – Hayin Fulani – Kakeyeyi – Dakace Road with 105m Bridge linking Sabon Gari and Zaria Local Governments.
We inherited this road at 15% completion. After listening to the pleas of the people, and considering the importance of the road to the economic development of the area and improvement in the lives of the people, we moved into action. We are happy today that our intervention has brought joy to the people. Additionally, in response to the request by representative of Sabon Gari traders for access road to the Sabon Gari Market, I will direct the Kaduna State Roads Agency (KADRA) to carry out the necessary assessments, with a view to awarding contract for the construction.
Given the agricultural endowment of Sabon Gari Local Government and its proximity to Zaria and Kaduna metropolitan cities, the Dogon Bauchi to Dakace road will undoubtedly enhance economic activities, improve access to markets, healthcare, and education, and boost the overall quality of life for the people of the local government area and beyond.

Since inception of our administration, we have performed groundbreaking for the construction of 79 roads across Kaduna State, totaling 780 kilometers. So far, 28 roads have been completed and commissioned, while the others are at various stages of completion. Today’s road commissioning symbolises the progress we are making together as a community and reflects our collective aspirations for a better tomorrow. This is just a foretaste of what this administration can do by the grace of God and with the support of the people. I therefore urge all stakeholders – community leaders, local government officials, and citizens – to take ownership of this road. Let us work together to ensure the road is well maintained and utilised to its fullest potential.
I thank all stakeholders, including our engineers, contractors, and the people of Sabon Gari Local Government Area, for their support and cooperation. This achievement is a testament to what can be accomplished through dogged commitment, collective effort and a shared vision for a better Kaduna State.
