The Gbagy nationality has warned Nigerians against the coalition agitation, making frantic efforts to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
The group said el-Rufa’i lacks moral standing to criticize and condemn Tinubu’s government because he (el Rufai) was a terror when he held sway in Kaduna for eight years shiwing no sympathy to the plight of the people, destroyed the properties, arreting who disagrred with him.
In a press briefing on Monday, the Coalition of Gbagyi Nationality in Kaduna State in response to the former Governor of Kaduna State ,Mal. Nasir Elrufai based on his unwarranted attacks on President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The text of the briefing was read by the leader of the coalition, Mr Benjamin George and it reads:
“We discovered that since Former Kaduna Governor,Mal Nasir Elrufai lost ministerial appointment in President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet, he has remained inconsolable, unleashing verbal attacks on Tinubu’s administration.
“We are deeply concerned and worried as people ,who have suffered serious destruction in the hands of Elrufai when he held sway as the Governor of our state. We are raising the alarm now, that if allowed to continue on this lane of attacks, the polity would be overheated and our democracy threatened, all simply because he was not appointed Minister.
“It is against this background,that we want to inform Nigerians that he doesn’t have any moral standing to come out and speak against the President, when he was more of an emperor and autocratic leader during his days as Governor. This was someone who destroyed our houses without sensibility to the feelings and state of mind of the affected persons; it was an open fact that he marginalized and discriminated against southern Kaduna and Christians in the state . This same Elrufai sacked our people, sidelined us out of government for complete 8 years without recourse to principles of fairness and justice and has suddenly become a champion for masses.
“Needless to say ,he was a governor who didn’t have sympathy for the poor and masses. Recall under his government ,how he ordered the demolishing of our market stalls ,failed to address problems of banditry, failed to develop our roads in the southern part of Kaduna , threatened and arrested innocent persons unlawfully, including some of you journalists in the state .
“He was a leader whose utterances as governor did not encourage peaceful co-existence among the different religions and ethnic groups in the state. It is is very clear that his current move to mobilise politicians he had despised in the past, to unseat President Tinubu in 2027 as a revenge for losing ministerial position is dead on arrival.
“We are therefore calling on the good people of Kaduna and Nigeria to ignore his utopian postulations and evil machinations under guise of a selfish coalition. He is a thorough bred evil man with high sense of capitalist orientation against the masses and should be stopped now.
“To this end ,we have decided not to keep quiet and come out to tell the world categorically that the Gbagyi nation and the middle- Belt will never be part of any coalition orchestrated by Mal Nasir Elrufai and his cohorts against President Tinubu.
“Ask yourself,if he was appointed Minister,will he be attacking Tinubu or be leading a coalition against him ? The answer is capital NO.
“Nigerians are wise enough to know that Elrufai will do anything to grab power and then turn against the same people that gave him the power ,” rhe stanent further said.
