The Special Adviser, Department of Local Government Inspectorate Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana has appreciated the location selected for the setting up of the Agricultural Mechanisation Centre at the premises of Kaita Local Government Secretariat.
The Special Adviser made this known during an inspection visit to ascertain the locations selected for the construction of the AMCs in Kaita and Jibia LGAs.
It would be recalled that the Katsina State Government under Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has established AMC in the state capital and pledged to reflect it in all the 34 LGAs of the state
The Small AMCs were planned to be set up within the premises of the Secretariat of each local government area where Agricultural equipments will be kept for use by farmers during the farming season with motives at ensuring food security in the state and the country in general.
Following this development, the Special Adviser visited the two local government areas to ascertain the location and level of work done regarding the construction of the AMCs.
The Special Adviser also took time to revisit MCHC Kaita to ascertain the compliance of the directives given for the replacement of concrete slaps for Sockaways of the newly constructed SQs at the Centre.
At the Secretariat of Jibia local government, Hon. Lawal Rufa’i Safana expressed dismay for not meeting any official of the local council despite working hours only the Watchman was around at the LG Secretariat who conducted the Team round the site for AMC.
The S A similarly was not comfortable with the selection of the site, according to him, it was like the choice of the site has some undertone.
Sequel to this development, the Hon. Lawal Safana decided to invite the officials concern to discuss on the issue and plush them out so that the work will commence at an appropriate location.
The S A similarly explained that the government was interested to kick start the work before the rainy season as the time frame for the job was not much and no time should be wasted any more.
The Team also visited Daddara Health Centre where he inspected the completed Staff Quarters which were constructed outside the premises of the Centre, the S A therefore suggested a wall fence for the SQs to be attached to the existing structure of the Health Centre for security purposes.
