Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has received the Speaker of the Federal House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, on a condolence visit to the Governor, following the demise of his mother, Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Barebari.
Others received were the Chairman of the Revenue Mobilization and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Dr. Mohammed Bello Shehu, Other distinguished personalities who paid condolence visits to the Governor included Senator Abdullahi Gumel; Murtala Yar’Adua; Asiya Yar’Adua, daughter of the late
Shehu Musa Yar’Adua; business mogul Alhaji Kashim Bukar Shattima, Chairman of Barbados Group; Dr. iliya Gashinbaki, renowned entrepreneur with ventures in AgriTech, Energy, e-Commerce, Finance, and Forensics; and Senator Nasiru Sani Zangon Daura, Senator representing Daura Zone.
During the solemn visit at Katsina House in Abuja, Speaker Abbas described the late Hajiya Safara’u as a mother who lived a remarkable life—one that spanned nearly nine decades.”
“In a region where life expectancy remains close to 50 years, her longevity was nothing short of a divine blessing,” the Speaker stated.
Abbas reflected on the deceased’s journey as one “marked by resilience, triumphs, and inevitable trials—a reflection of the human experience itself.”
The Speaker offered prayers for the departed soul, saying, “We pray Almighty Allah grants her eternal peace and comfort. May He also grant the Governor, his family, and all of us the strength to bear this irreplaceable loss.”

Speaker Abbas noted, “No one can fill the void left by a mother’s passing. We must instead honor her legacy through unity, compassion, and service—values she undoubtedly instilled in her children.”
“Your Excellency, in this moment of grief, know that we stand with you. I am committed to collaborating with your administration and the people of Katsina State to advance our shared goals,” the Speaker pledged.
On behalf of the Governor, the National Coordinator of New Partnership for African Development (NEPAD), Hon. Abdullahi Jabiru Tsauri, expressed gratitude to Speaker Abbas for sharing the moment of grief with the Government and the people of Katsina State.
