The three-day fidau prayer for late Hajiya Safara’u Umaru Baribari, mother of Governor Dikko Umaru Radda was held in Radda Village, Charanchi Local Government of Katsina State, Tuesday.
Prominent Islamic scholars led special prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased. They also prayed for strength, guidance and fortitude for Governor Radda and the entire family to bear the irreparable loss.
A statement by Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, Chief Press Secretary to Governor Radda said the special prayer ceremony brought distinguished dignitaries, family members, diplomats and sympathizers to pay their final respects for the late matriarch.
These include former Governors Barr. Ibrahim Shehu Shema, Aminu Bello Masari; Emir of Daura HRH Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk; Representative of Emir of Katsina, ,Alhaji Aminu Nuhu Abdulkadir; District Head of Rimi, Kingmakers and other district heads from Katsina and Daura Emirates.
Others are Alhaji Sani Aliyu Daura, State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC); Members of the State Executive Council; Heads of Security Agencies like DSS, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Customs Service and the Nigeria Immigration Service.
Military leadership in attendance were Commander of Air Component, Air Commodore Garba Ibrahim Jibia; Commander of 17 Brigade, Brigadier General B. O. Omoporiola; Katsina State Commissioner of Police.
