The Peoples Democratic Party, PDPhas suspended  the party’s Board of Trustees ,BoT chairman Chief Adolphus Wabara.

Wabara was suspended by  the Abia State chapter of the PDP, a situation which political observers linked to the ongoing power struggle between rival factions within the party.

.There are reports suggesting that Wabara’s suspension was confirmed by the PDP’s Abia State Working Committee (SWC) after a meeting led by the State Chairman, Abraham Amah. While Amah verified the decision, he stated that further details would be provided later.

Political observers see this as another episode in the ongoing battle for dominance between supporters of Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, and backers of former PDP presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar. Wike’s ally and former Abia State governor, Okezie Ikpeazu, is said to hold significant influence over the state chapter of the party.

Wabara, a former Senate President, has played a key role in the party’s leadership and efforts at reconciliation. His suspension raises questions about the party’s internal unity, especially as the PDP prepares for future elections.

With no official explanation yet given for the decision, analysts believe this development could either escalate tensions or lead to further realignments within the PDP. All eyes are now on the party’s national leadership to see how they will respond to this latest crisis
