The Zone B command of the Nigerian custom Service (NCS) has given an award to the Executive Chairman Green Economic Zone (GEZ), Khalifa Nasiru Abdullahi for the Zone’s excellent services.
Held at Zone B headquarters recently, the award was given to him as part of it’s activities making the 2024 International Customs Day celebrations.
It’s meant to commemorate Global Customs Day in it’s effort to support citizens and businesses by empowering the global supply chain, re-enforcing collaboration, harnessing technology and putting traditional and new partners at the centre of the transformation process according to best global practices.
Receiving the award on behalf of the GEZ Chairman, the Special Assistant on Services, Malam Nuradeen Khamis expressed gratitude and assured the Zone’s continued efforts to provide windows of opportunities, compliance with established laws and making it accessible to businesspeople in the zone.
He said, the Zone is the largest among the three similar zones in the whole Northern region, and it’s gratifying that it’s being honoured by the NCS just within few years of its commencement of operations.
Khamis, accompanied by Head of Mining, Ahmad Abubakar Yahaya Kaduna said, award was not only a morale booster but, a testimony of their untiring efforts to deepen free trade activities across the North west zone and the nation at large.
The event drew stakeholders across a wide spectrum, while other participants include Kaduna Inland Dry Port (KIDP) as well as Association of Nigeria Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA) during the event.
GEZ was not only recognized but honoured with an Award as most compliant and fastest growing trade zone under the Zone B command, the Free Trade Zone is delighted to have been recognized by NCS, which is a significant organisation of the Federal government.
Highlights of the occasion were aware of plaque, group photos and presentation of pleasantries.
