The new commissioner of finance in Katsina State Alhaji Bello Kagara has charged staff of the 7 to show more commitment and dedication in the management of the State resources to support the government in delivering on its mandate.
The call was made by the new commissioner when he assumed office on Monday at the ministry. He emphasized the importance of creation of more and better windows in revenue generation and blocked revenue leakages.
He noted that government policies and programmes can only be implemented if money is available and utilising it judiciously. He therefore called for understanding and cooperation between and among staff.
In his response, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Alhaji Abdulhamid Garba Sabuwa welcome the new Commissioner and assured him the support he requires to pilot the affairs of the Ministry to a better level.
On his part, the State Accountant General Alhaji Nura Tela acknowledged the capacity of Alhaji Bello Kagara to lead the Ministry effectively considering his vast experience, especially as the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning.
Also speaking on behalf of other staff of the Ministry, the Director ICT and General Services Alhaji Jamilu Ibrahim Muhammad assured the new Commissioner their support, cooperation and dedication to duty.
