The United States of America has announced the suspension of all routine consular services in Niger Republic, including visa services, U.S. passport processing, and birth registrations, have been suspended until further notice.
The US Embassy in Niamey, Niger Republic in a statement on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 clarified that only limited emergency services will be available for U.S. citizens during the closure.
“During this period, only limited emergency services will be available for U.S. citizens,” the embassy stated.
The closure comes with no specified timeline for resuming regular consular services.
However, the embassy has encouraged U.S. citizens in Niger to reach out through official channels if emergency assistance is needed
