N- HYPPADEC distributes start-up Kits to Youths in Kebbi

The National Hydro-Electric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has distributed start-up kits to 1011 youths who graduated from Youth Transformation Programme (YTP) initiated by the Commission. 

 

The distribution was made by the Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC , Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa (Katikan Yauri) alongside the representatives of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation ( SGF), Senator George Akume and Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State at a ceremony held on Thursday at Presidential Lodge in Birnin Kebbi

 

While distributing the items together with the the MD N-HYPPADEC,  Senator George Akume who was represented by his director unveiled the commitment of the federal government towards the mission and vision of N-HYPPADEC. 

 

Akume however commended N-HYPPADEC for making waves as a result of successes it has recorded since inception in terms of programs of empowering youth  in Kebbi State which also similar has been extended to Niger,  Kwara,  Kogi and plateau states.

 

The SGF said the TYP program which was launched in Kebbi State is another life- changing event which N-HYPPADEC promises to change the lives of the beneficiaries and by extension,  that of their families.

 

 Also Speaking,  Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC,  Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa noted that gatherings of distribution of such items to beneficiaries is testimony of the federal government demonstration and commitment of the federal government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in creating a sustainable opportunities for youths to defend for themselves through craft activities. 

 

According to Yelwa the Commission under TYP programme in technology sector has trained 343 Youths,  162 in Computer apprenticeship and 181 in website design so as to compete in the global digital market.

 

Similarly, he added that in Fashion and beauty industry the Commission has 258 new skilled entrepreneurs, 185 in fashion design and tailoring,  60 in cosmetology and 13 in bag and shoe making trainees in Kebbi State. 

 

Kebbi State Governor,  Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu represented by the Head Of Service , Malami Shekare commended N-HYPPADEC for its initiatives particularly on training Youths and distributed them with items for Self-catering. 

 

Governor Idris said the commission transformative programme was in line with the state’s government resolve to partner with different agencies to engage unemployed Youths towards a prosperous Kebbi State.
