Nigerian Armed forces get salary increase

The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved salary increase for the members of the Nigerian armed forces.

Alh  Bello Matawalle, the Minister of State for Defence, made this announcement on Friday in a statement released by the ministry’s spokesperson, Henshaw Ogubike

In addition to the salary increase, President Tinubu has also released funds to clear outstanding pensions and entitlements owed to retired military personnel.

Military personnel have begun receiving alerts for the three-month salary increase, which is expected to provide a significant morale boost to the armed forces.

Matawalle lauded the president’s unwavering commitment to both serving and retired military members, emphasizing that clearing pension arrears remains a top priority.

He assured that, despite setbacks, President Tinubu will continue to support the military in confronting Nigeria’s security challenges, expressing confidence that this financial boost will enable the armed forces to better tackle national security issues and enhance their operational effectiveness
