The Katsina State House of Assembly has approved the creation of six districts in Katsina and Daura emirates
.
The House at its plenary session today, Tuesday, 26th of November 2024 approved the bill after scaling both the second and third reading
The newly created district are:
1- Dankama District from Kaita
2- Radda District from Charanchi
3- Muduru District from Mani
4- Dabai District from Danja
5- Ɗankum District from Yanduna
6- Ƙawarin Kuɗi District from Yardaje
Governor Radda sent the Bill to the assembly on Monday, 25th of November 2024, seeking the creation of the district in the state. The bill aimed at restructuring the traditional institution was deliberated upon and approved by the assembly shortly after submission
A statement signed and issued by Dalhat Daura, SSA Digital Media dated November 26th, 2024 said the initiative by Governor Radda is intended to enhance the administrative reach of the government, bring governance closer to the people, and empower traditional institutions to play a more significant role in local administration and cultural preservation
The House also approved motion for the conversion of Government day Pilot secondary school Mani to Boarding Secondary School. The motion was Sponsored by Hon. Zayyana Shu’aibu Bujawa, member representing Mani Constituency
Following the approval, the Speaker of the House Rt. Honourable Nasir Yahaya FISS, instructed the Clerk to forward the bill/motion to the executive arm of Government for assent.
