Chad deports over 600 Nigerians

Authorities in Chad Republic have deposited about 600 Nigerians who were received by Nigerian Government on Monday.

Most of the deportees are were indigenous of Borno, Kano, Sokoto, and Kaduna States many of whom fled their various homes In Nigeria due to Boko Haram attacks, to take refuge in neighbouring countries of Chad and Cameroon.

The Director-General of the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, Muhammed Barkindo, disclosed this to newsmen while profiling the refugees in Maiduguri, capital of Borno State on Monday.

Barkindo noted that the migrants had entered Chad without proper documentation.

According to him, SEMA had provided them with logistics support and basic necessities, including food and N10,000 for transport, before their departure to their respective states.

He added that many of the migrants expressed the desire to return home due to the hardships they faced while in Chad
