In an interview with the Executive Secretary of the Katsina State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Shamsuddin Yahaya, described healthcare delivery in Nigeria as bedroc,  hence, must be gotten right.

He recalled that the Governor had in the last two weeks toured 11 hospitals in the Funtua Zone respectively.

He explained that the ongoing upgrading and renovation contract encompasses renovation and upgrade of the affected PHCs, staff quarters, facilities, dispensary and medical wards.

“This tour shows the political will of the Governor despite his busy and tight schedule.

“The Governor has asked us to conduct a needed assessment in terms of the human resources needed in these facilities.

“Currently, there is advertisement and the process of recruitment at the hospital management board where various cadres of healthcare officers are going to be employed so also at the primary healthcare level”, Dr Yahaya noted
