The Katsina State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has expressed disappointment on the work executed by some local government councils on the remodeling project of clinics in their respective areas.
Supervising Commissioner of the Ministry Alhaji Bishir Tanimu Gambo made this known on Tuesday during projects inspection at Shinkafi Primary Healthcare Center in Kaita Local Government.
The commissioner was concerned the construction work on staff quarters was only about 30%
He therefore directed the Director Works of the Ministry to invite the contrator to explain reason for slowing the construction work..
The commissioner also inspected and commended the level of work executed by the councils. The projects include PHC Barawa and Jino in Batagarawa Local Government, Shinkafi in Katsina LG and Dankama PHC in Kaita LG.
Others are Majigiri, Doguru and Tamilo PHCs in Mashi LG, and the visit terminated at PHC Tsagem in Mani LG.
The Commissioner expressed appreciation particularly on the completion of staff quarters in most of the clinics so far visited.
Hon Bishir Tanimu Gambo urged for the speedy delivery of health service equipments to PHCs to ensure the purposes of giving primary healthcare to the people.
