The Tinubu/Shettima ticket for the 2927 presidential race has been described as a better option for Northerners
The assertion was made by Ilyasu Muss Kwankwaso a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying backing Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima would ensure a smoother path for power to shift back to the North in 2031.
While talking to journalists in Kano on Sunday, October 27, Kwankwaso urged northern politicians to resist any campaigns supporting alternative candidates from the South, emphasizing that choosing another leader in 2027 could delay the North’s turn for another eight years.
“We in the North must unite to ensure Tinubu and Shettima’s re-election in the 2027 general election,” Kwankwaso stated.
He warned against northern politicians who, he alleged, were secretly plotting to abandon Tinubu, despite the president’s ongoing efforts to combat armed banditry in the region.
He urged these politicians to reconsider, noting that failing to support Tinubu could bring adverse political consequences for the North.
