Chikun/Kajuru by-election: Olakunle Seeks Support, to Uphold Ekene’s Legacy

Ahead of the upcoming by-election in the Chikun/Kajuru constituency, Hon. Olakunle Oluwafemi met with local government and ward executives of Kajuru, seeking their support, assuring them of his commitment to continue the legacy of the late lawmaker, Ekene Abubakar Adams, and vowed to be inclusive in his governance if elected.

During the meeting, Olakunle presented his manifesto, highlighting key areas of focus which includes boosting agriculture: He pledged to invest in agricultural development to enhance food security and empower farmers.

 Infrastructure Development: He promised to prioritize infrastructure projects to improve the quality of life for constituents.

Rural Electrification: Olakunle outlined plans to bring electricity to underserved rural communities.

Healthcare Improvement: He emphasized the importance of accessible and quality healthcare services for all.

Enhanced Security: Olakunle pledged to prioritize safety and security for the constituency.

Sports Development: He outlined his commitment to fostering youth talent and promoting sports development.

Women & Youth Empowerment: Olakunle expressed his commitment to empowering women and young people through education, skills development, and economic opportunities.

Olakunle pledged to remain faithful to the trust placed in him and called on constituents to vote for the Labour Party in the upcoming council elections.

James Clement, Director General of the Olakunle Oluwafemi Campaign, urged the people of Kajuru to resist attempts by selfish politicians to hinder the constituency’s progress. He reiterated that Olakunle is the best candidate to carry on the mantle of good governance established by Ekene.

Abraham Ahmed Yerima, Chairman of the Labour Party in Chikun, informed the electorate that Olakunle’s visit was to seek their support in the by-election to fill the vacancy caused by the passing of Hon. Ekene Abubakar Adams. He urged them to give Olakunle their full support.

Aliyu Yarba, Chairman of the Labour Party in Kajuru, expressed gratitude for Olakunle’s visit and assured him of the constituents’ unwavering commitment to choosing the right candidate. He emphasized Olakunle’s positive impact on the lives of the people and the communities, stating, “Olakunle is doing a good job, and he is the kind of leader we should support.”

During the visit, Olakunle and his team commissioned a borehole in Kujama ward that had been abandoned for more than seven years. Jummai Emmanuel, a beneficiary, expressed relief at the restored access to potable water, a long-standing issue for the community.

Zainab Yankura, another beneficiary, expressed her gratitude to Olakunle for this gesture, promising her vote for him and the Labour Party.

Amos Gwamna, the ward chairman of the Labour Party in Kujama, lauded Olakunle for his humanitarian work, proclaiming, “Olakunle Oluwafemi is a godsend to the Chikun/Kajuru constituency. “We thank you for everything you’ve done, and may God bless and grant you your heart desires.”

Earlier, Hon. Olakunle Oluwafemi donated one million naira to Jonathan Matthew, known as JKK, in Kudenda. Matthew, an engineer, has trained numerous youths who have become successful entrepreneurs.
