The Government of Katsina State has inaugurated Katsina State Local Government Staff Pension Board.
In his inaugural speech, the Commissioner expressed appreciation to the state Governor, Dr Dikko Umar Radda for selecting committed and experienced people who are humanitarians in nature to man the board.
According to him, with the calibre of people chosen to steer the Governing Board for the Local Government Staff Pension, local government pensioners in the state would have a sigh of relief.
Alhaji Bishir Tanimu who spoke extensively at the occasion, talked on the strategies followed to stabilised the payments of local government staff monthly salaries and pensioners on 25th of every month, which took effect last September 2024.
The Commissioner also talked on the delay in the payment of September pension by 2 – 3 Commercial Banks to some pensioners, which according to investigations was found to be a Network problem.
He however reminded the Executive Secretary of the Board to ensure submission of pension details on or before the the 9th of every month to the Ministry.
The Commissioner therefore congratulated the newly inaugurated Chairman and other members of the Governing Board, and charged them to ensure their continued support and commitment.
In his acceptance speech, the just inaugurated Chairman of the Board, Alhaji Usman Maska on behalf of other members assured renewed commitment and objectiveness in their new assignment.
Those inaugurated include Alhaji Usman Maska as Chairman, Alhaji Salisu Musa Batsari, Hajia Amina Abdullahi M/f ashi, Dr. Rabi’u Abdulkadir Kurfi, Hajia Ramatu Danmaliki, Hamisu M. Hamidu Baure, Alhaji Sani Aliyu Daura, Alhaji Aminu Umar Ingawa, and Alhaji Jafaru Abdulkadir Rimi as members.
The Permanent Secretary Department of Establishment, Pension and Training Alhaji Adamu Abdullahi Zango, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Finance Alhaji Abdulhamid Garba Sabuwa, Permanent Secretary Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Alhaji Masa’udu Banye and Alhaji Nasiru Wada Mai’adua representative of NULGE to serve as Ex-Officio.
