The Katsina State Government in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) has launched a one day Town Hall Meeting under REACH Project held in Katsina Local Government Area.
The Meeting was aimed at ensuring total commitment of Stakeholders to Girl Child transit from one level of education to another.
In her remarks at the occasion, the Education Secretary of Katsina Local Government Education Authority, Dr Halima Umar stressed the value of Education in human development, adding that parents owe it a duty to give their children Education.
The Education Secretary represented by the Head of Social Mobilisation, Ahmed Ibrahim also expressed gratitude and appreciation to the State Government and the development partners towards improving the standard of Education in the State.
She then called on the Stakeholders to continue to complement government’s efforts and other Donor Agencies to achieve the desired objectives.
The composition of the Town Hall Meeting include Principals, Headteachers, Teachers and Parents.
The meeting also features sensitisation and awareness campaign as well as conduct of lessons on the importance of education and factors hindering smooth transition.
At the end of the meeting Education managers have signed a form of total commitment in ensuring that the Girl Children were supported to transit from one level of education to another.
It could be recalled that a couple of weeks ago inauguration and Training of Community Transition Monitors were held at 6 Focus REACH Local Government Areas in the State.
