KTSG, UNICEF inaugtate Community Level Transition Monitoring Committee

The Katsina State Government in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef) has inaugurated the Community Level Transition Monitoring committees in the Six focus Local Government Areas in the State.
Inaugurating the Committee in Rimi Local Government Area, the Assistant Director Statistics of the Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education,Alhaji Idris Usman emphasised the need to address the menace of Out of School in the State.
Alhaji Idris Usman further revealed some of the Terms of References of the Committee as to identify barriers hindering smooth transition from one level of Education to another and to develop strategies to minimise or eradicate them.In addition to conducting head count of students and proper record keeping especially data.
Earlier,the Education Secretary of Rimi Local Government Education Authority,Alh Salisu Ibrahim Kadandani commended the United Nations Children’s Fund and the Government of Katsina for coming up with the initiative.
He called on the Stakeholders in the Area to complement Government’s efforts and other Donar Agencies towards the development of Education Sector in the State.
In her Remarks,the Unicef Consultant and one of the Resource Person of the training Dr Hafsat Yahaya Yakasai stated that the inauguration and the training of the Committee was primarily aimed at ensuring active participation of stakeholders in the Education Process providing necessary support in addressing issues that might prevent students from continuing their Education.
She further stressed that the programme would empower Girls to improve on their socio economic status to have a better living in the society. In a vote of thanks the District head of Rimi kauran Katsina represented by  Kabir Suleiman appreciated the Government’s efforts and other Donar Agencies for their unwavering commitment in developing the Education Sector in the State.
He assured that the committee would justify the confidence reposed on them through proper sensitisation
