The Kebbi State Independent Electoral Commission (KESIEC) has fixed August 31 for the conduct of elections in the 21 local government Councils of the state
KESIEC said under it responsibility in discharging powers conferred on it by the relevant laws, it has set to conduct the local councils polls within that period.
A statement signed by the chairman of KESIEC Hon. Aliyu Muhammed Mera made available to newsmen yesterday in Birnin Kebbi said the Commission has fixed for the conduct of the local government council election to fill in the vacancy of local government chairman and councilors in the state.
According to him, nomination forms and all other relevant documents in relation with election are to obtained through the Secretariat of the commission at no. 4 Jalingo crescent G.R.A.Birnin Kebbi.
It added that this is to enable the political parties, stakeholders and the general public to take note and commence all necessary preparation in respect of the forthcoming elections.
Mera therefore, solicited for the support and co-operation of all stakeholders and general public towards conducting free, fair, credible and acceptable local government council general election in the state
