Local Government councils have benefitted from unprecedented achievements of Governor Dikko Radda administration especially on Security, Education and Agriculture.
The commissioner in the Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Prof Badamasi Lawal Charanchi revealed this while briefing the media on the successes recorded in his ministry in the last one year
Prof Badamasi said on assumption of office, Malam Dikko Umar Radda collaborated with local government councils to expend over N15b for the purchase of 15 Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC), 700 Motorcycles, and 65 Hilux trucks were purchased.
Others included Arms and Ammunition as well as protective gadgets, hand grenade, helmet, life jackets among others for the purpose of tackling insecurity.
The creation of Security Watch Corps according to him had add more colour in the crusade from which some neighbouring states borrowed a leave, adding that after training, the CWC they were posted and offices were constructed for them in all the frontline local government areas.
The Commissioner also shed more light on the APCs, Hilux and Motorcycles already purchased, saying that 3 Hilux vehicles and 50 motorcycles to each of the frontline areas and 2 Hilux, 25 Motorcycles each to lesser frontline areas, while one Hilux, 5 or 10 Motorcycles each to other LGAs.
On Education, the commissioner explained that this was the first time in history he witnessed a sitting Governor employing over 7,000 teachers at once within his first six months in office except Malam Dikko Umar Radda.
He revealed that 109 students have been sponsored abroad amongst which
41 to study Medicines in Egypt while 68 to study Artificial intelligence Courses in China.
On Agriculture, the commissioner explained further that N1.8b had been approved and released to local government councils for the purpose of improving Irrigation activities across the state.
According to him, six clusters with ten Irrigation farmers attached to each were selected in each of the 34 local government areas, where a Solar Powered Water Pumping Machine, Tube Wells, Fertilizer, Chemicals ,improved seeds of Pepper, Onion, Carrot, Cabbage amongst others were distributed to 2040 Irrigation farmers across the state.
Prof Badamasi Lawal therefore said the achievements of Malam Dikko Radda was amazing and assured people of the state that the current state administration, by the grace of Allah, will continue to be on top gear in ensuring peaceful coexistence across the state.
