Gov Radda releases N555million to students

The Government of Katsina State has announced the approval of N555,897,648:00 for the payment of bursary allowances to 37,799 Katsina State students studying in various institutions of higher learning across the nation

 This was disclosed by Katsina State Governor, Dr Dikko Umar Radda at the 9th to 13th combined convocation ceremony of Umaru Musa Yar’adua University held Saturday.

The sum of N174,293, 160 is for the payment of 11, 605 fresh students of 2021/2022 academic session while 26,194 continuing students of 2022/2023 will be paid the sum of N369, 914, 588. respectively.

The amount covers logistics for the conduct of interviews to students of 2023/2024 academic session as well as distributions of award letters.

A statement from the office of the Public Relations Officer signed by Salisu Lawal Kerau said his Excellency settled the outstanding scholarship allowances of 2020/2021 (fresh students) and 2021/2022 (continuing students) to the tune of 648,000,000 since his inception to office.

The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment towards enhancing the welfare of Katsina State students especially with the introduction of katsina state government award of academic excellence. He  urged them to reciprocate the gesture and continue supporting the present administration as well as concentrate in their studies for the development of education in the state.
