NIS tasks Kebbi personnel over protection of land borders

The new Comptroller of the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) , Kemi Nanna Nandap has charged personnel attached to land borders in Kebbi State to redouble their efforts in mitigating alliens movement into the country.

She made the charges weekend at Kamba, Dolekaina and Lolo  border areas of Kebbi State bordering with Benin and Niger Republics during her 2-day official working visit to Kebbi State.

At Kamba , the NIS boss while addressing the Personnel had, warned them to wake- up and protect the image of the country,  Nigeria before the eyes of the world by redouble their efforts in tackling the influx of migrants in the country.

She said ” we can’t wait until when the white men came to protect our nation while we have enough personnel like you and some others from the military,  police,  customs etc.”

” If you officers stand firmly and do your job properly, surely these criminals who cross into our country illegally would be apprehended and prosecuted and our country will remain in absolute peace ” She added.

At Dolekaina River (Bakin Ruwa) Nandap told journalists that she visited Lolo border after she crossed over Dolekaina river where she met NIS personnel attached to Lolo border and commended them for their untiring efforts in tackling the influx of migrants in to the country.

She however observed that her personnel at Kamba,  Dolekaina and Lolo borders are lacking logistics and equipment in order to discharge their duty effectively

The NIS boss therefore assured the personnel of the Federal Government of their welfare and rewarding brave and dedicated officers at their duty posts.

She Implored communities at the border areas to support NIS p personnel in their efforts to protect their lives and property.
