The Sole Administrator of Argungu local government area in Kebbi State, Hon. Aliyu Sani Gulma has had made a personal donation of N10 million to 500 persons in the area during Ramadan and Eid-el-Fitr celebration.
Briefing newsmen over the development yesterday at Cabinet Office in Birnin Kebbi, Hon. Gulma noted that the gesture was to complement the efforts of Kauran Gwandu led administration in assisting people during Ramadan and Sallah celebration as contained in his Campaign promises.
According to him, of the amount, ten thousand were given to each of five hundred people and twenty thousand to each of two hundred and fifty delegates in the local government .
On the local government, Hon. Sani Gulma disclosed that his council has distributed 3,600 bags of assorted foodstuffs to 244 polling units in the 11 wards of the local government.
He said, the gesture was from the State government under the directive of governor, Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu to assist the poor during the Ramadan and Sallah periods in order to cushion the effects of hardship caused by removal of fuel subsidy by the Federal government.
When asked? If the money given to APC Exco in the area by government were shared accordingly, Hon Gulma said ” I have not received any complaint with regards to it.”
