The victim of alleged organ harvest, Alhaji Ibrahim Ejibade, a resident of William Street in Jos North local government area of Plateau State has died.
Before his death, Alhaji Ibrahim accused one Mr Norah Kekere of Murna Clinic and Maternity, Jos, of kidney theft.
Family sources revealed that late Ejibade was said to have battled with unstable health status ever since he underwent surgery for hernia in 2021, performed by Mr Kekere.
The late Ejibade accused Mr. Kekere of removing his right kidney in September of last year. Mr. Kekere was then taken into custody after a report of Mrs. Kehinde Kamal’s right kidney being removed during a procedure in 2018 was filed at the Nasarawa Gown Police Division.
Later, the Plateau State Ministry of Justice sued Mr. Kekere in court on behalf of Ejibade and Kehinde Kamal, who had also accused the same doctor of harvesting organs.
Saturday March 16, 2024, Muhammad Sani, Ejibade’s son, confirmed the death and said their father was buried in accordance with Islamic customs after passing away on Wednesday night.
Baba’s condition hasn’t improved since his surgery at the Murna Clinic. You know, we went to Jos University Teaching Hospital for scanning after Mr. Kekere’s surgery, and we found out that his left kidney had been removed. The case is still pending in court, Sani stated.
He continued by saying that despite his deteriorating health, Ejibade was able to show up for the court hearings even on the final postponed date.
According to our correspondent, Mr. Noah Kekere and his two suspected collaborators, Dr. Philip Dachung and Yusuf Abduallahi, a staff member of the Murna Clinic, are currently awaiting trial and have been given bail.
